Courtesy

Rather than persistence in service, service consists of courtesy (adab). Observance of courtesy in the course of service is better than service itself. --- Munazil in 'Attar Tadhikirat, 541'

GHAZALI

"Is Satan doctor of the law,and highly intelligent?" Hasan Basri--peace be upon him--was asked. "Yes., indeed," he said."If Satan were not a shrewd doctor of the law, how could he ever have succeeded in leading so many theologians and clever thinkers astray!"
GHAZALI in Nurbakhsh: Hasan Basri, 191.

Lack of Moral education

To impart moral education side by side with other subjects the translation of books like Gulistan of Sheikh Sa'di, Bostan and Mathnavi of Maulana Rumi etc.needs to be made available to the students as an optional subject to enable them to face the world with honesty, dedication and other adjectives. These books cover the subjects like kindness, love to all and hate to none, in praise of education, justice, prayer, thanksgiving, patience, truth, besides cursing greed, cruelty, falsehood, pride, ignorance, miserliness etc.

Rumi: Mathnawi,VI:845

SERVICE
For GOD's pleasure you should do your service,
Why care whether you bear praise or blame?
(Mathnavi Rumi VI: 845)

UNLESS A benefit exists for someone else within,
buried in such a heart,
rough-hewn granite
and precious stones are one.
Sa'di: Kulliyat-i-Sa'di, 232.

Words of the Prophet Muhammad (PBH)

Pay the laborer his wages even before his sweat dries up.
The trader who does not hoard essential supplies receives His sustenance, while the hoarder of essential supplies is cursed.
Allah will show compassion to those who show kindness while buying and selling, and recovering debts.
To earn through labor is the best way to earn, provided the work is done with sincerity.

Ambition

Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with great ambitions. (HENRY WORDSWORTH LONGFELLOW)
No bird soars too high, if he soars with his own wings (WILLIAM BLAKE)
And he that strives to touch the stars,
Oft stumbles at a straw. (EDMUND SPENSER)
There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second. (LOGAN PEARSALL SMITH)
To become what we are capable of becoming is the only end in life. (ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON)
